Apple announcements bring excitement to any Mac home!

First, the new Apple Watch 6 is now available. Apple has amped up the health and fitness game with additions like a pulse oximeter to check your blood oxygen levels (Thanks, COVID . . .) and the new Apple Fitness + app, which will be available later this year.

If you‘ve been thinking about getting an Apple Watch but don’t want to fork over the $$$$ for the new 6, Apple is releasing the Apple Watch SE version that’s more wallet friendly starting at $279.

Apple Fitness + sounds interesting as it combines the Apple Watch with your AppleTV to provide a better fitness program.

The jury is still out for someone like me who never seems to be able to stick to any fitness program. We will be checking it out when it’s released in late 2020. I know I need to work off my new COVID “fluff” layer, so this might do the trick.

The Fitness + subscription is $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year.

There is another new iPad and iPad Air. The biggest difference between the two is price. The iPad is less expensive than the iPad Air. It will still be very fast and packed with features. The new iPad will be compatible with the iPad Pencil, if that’s something you’ve been waiting for.

The iPad Air (due out in October) will be about $300 more than the iPad. It has a faster processing chip, retina display and uses the new Magic Keyboard.

But if all you want to do is manage email, cruise the web and use basic apps, put your money on the iPad. Designers and photography buffs will find the iPad Air more to their liking.
