I admit it. I am a Weather Geek!

I may need a 12-step Weather Anonymous Program. I’m a bit obsessed about the weather. I can’t wait to look at the weather app in the morning. Seeing the little clouds, sun, rain and sometime snow gets me all a flutter.

My focus on weather got worse when I was gifted my own weather station. Who knew you could have your own weather station?! Getting the weather where I live and not have it be the weather at the airport is a game changer for me. I now know the exact temp, rain amount, barometric pressure and wind speed at my house.

If you’re into weather like me or are now interested in getting the weather forecast at your house, here’s how I’m using my weather station.

I have a Tempest Weather Station - https://tempest.earth/. I like this one because is does not have the moving parts that many weather stations come with. I see moving parts as things that can break. This is a nice, solid one-piece weather station.

It only took me 15 minutes to set it up. There is a WiFi hub that connects to my Internet and it allows all that amazing weather data to show on the Tempest app on my iPhone.

I’m able to create weather widgets that appear on my MacMini, my MacBook Pro as well as my iPad and iPhone.

I’ve even set up an old iPad to sit in our sunroom so I can glance at the weather info while walking through. My granddaughter, Rosie, recently realized how cool weather was and is now trying to get in on the fun.

You can share your weather station data with other Tempest fans and the support community is very helpful. There are some hoops to jump through when putting your weather station in the right location and at the correct height to get accurate data. But it’s worth it.

For other Weather Geeks out there, here are some great sites to check out to get even deeper into your local weather.
