Last year I spent a lot of time on airplanes. One of the coolest pieces of tech I purchased to enhance my flight experience was the AirFly. This nifty little device allows you to use your bluetooth headphones on the airline’s entertainment system. No more cables crossing over the tray table!

The AirFly comes in three styles depending on what you need. Most will find the AirFly SE does it all. It allows for one person to sync their bluetooth headphones with one device (like the airlines inflight entertainment system). The AirFly Duo and AirFly Pro allow two bluetooth devices to sync to one entertainment system. The AirFly Pro has the added benefit of an auxiliary input which means if you don’t have a newer car with built in bluetooth, you can use the AirFly Pro to play music from your phone to the car speakers.

Here’s a quick step-by-step setup guide.

1. Out of the box, you’ll get a nice little bag to hold the AirFly, the power cable and small instruction guide. The AirFly holds a charge for 20-25 hours!

2. Take the cap off the end of the AirFly cable. Plug it into the airline’s entertainment mini plug port. On Delta, the port is under the screen on the left side.

3. Press the white button on the AirFly for 4 seconds. If you’re using Apple AirPods, open the case and press the white pairing button on the back of the AirPod case. For other bluetooth headsets, check the owners manual for how to put it into pairing mode. Eventually the AirFly will go from a flashing amber light to solid white light. You’re connected!

4. Stick your headphones in your ears and choose something to watch.

5. Enjoy your wireless flight!
